Euphorbia Monadenium

PLANT AT A GLANCE

Image Originated in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda
Image Best under partial sun or partial shade
Image About once every two weeks, allow soil to completely dry out between waterings
Image Easy to care
Image Toxic if ingested, best practice is to keep out of reach of kids and pets

PLANT SIZE

Plant height/length:  Around 20-30cm

Grow Pot size:  13-15cm

DESCRIPTION

The showy and unusual Monadenium stapelioides definitely sits high on the ‘Unusual Looking Plants’ list. It is a perennial succulent that branches out from a central rootstock, forming branches that flow over the pot and extend outwards.

Its colourful leaves are only produced at the growing point, and they only last a season, resulting in the formation of long tubercles that resemble snakes. The plant comes ready potted in our new white coloured ceramic Addie Planter.

Despite its quirky appearance, the Monadenium stapelioides is a very easy plant to care for. Water it once every two weeks, making sure that the soil has completely dried out and excess water is drained thoroughly. It prefers full sun but can also thrive under bright indirect light with some exposure to direct sunlight.

Important to know: As plants are natural products, form, pattern and colour will vary.
