Tropical vibes abound with this combination of the big leaved Medinilla magnifica in our new leaf and flower patterned Annabelle Planter.
Also known as Philippine Orchid, the Medinilla magnifica is one of the most elegant-looking tropical houseplants with its canopies of broad dark green foliage. The leaves of the Medinilla are ribbed and moderately succulent.
All Medinillas grow best in dappled shade or bright, indirect light. Direct sun will scorch the leaves or cause leaf drop. It needs about once a week of watering to keep the soil moderately moist but not soggy.
In Belgium in the 1900s the Medinilla magnifica was coveted by the late king Boudewijn and was grown in his royal conservatories. The plant was also depicted on the bank note of 10,000 Belgian francs.
If you treat them well, you may be lucky enough to see one of their fabulous flower blooms!
*Plant may come in full bloom, flower buddings, or none depending on individual batch*
Important to know: As plants are natural products, form, pattern and colour will vary.
