DESCRIPTION
Euphorbia Tirucalli, more commonly known as the Pencil Cactus is not a cactus, but a succulent plant that can grow to be over 10m high in the wild. It can also be kept to a more moderate height when grown as a houseplant. It is low maintenance and easy to look after as long as it gets plenty of bright light.
Mature plants feature thick brown branches with clusters of smaller green branches at their ends, which are cylindrical in shape and around the thickness of a pencil (hence the plantās common name).
While you generally can start a houseplant year-round, itās best planted at the beginning of the growing season in the spring. And unlike many cacti, this plant does have a fairly fast growth rate.Ā The pencil cactus is often grown as a houseplant, though care must be taken due to its toxic components for both humans and pets.
Important to know: As plants are natural products, form, pattern and colour will vary.Ā
