DESCRIPTION
The Alocasia sarawakensis ‘Yucatan Princess’ is a new and dark tropical variety of the Elephant Ear plant. It has glossy, crinkled and patent leather-like leaves held by its strong, sturdy deep red stems. The new leaf of this bold foliage unfurls to reveal a puckered greyish-green surface and brownish-red undersides. This plant definitely looks like a royalty, tall and elegant like a Yucatan Princess.
Caring for this plant is similar to other Elephant Ear. It grows best under bright, indirect light. If grown outdoors, it prefers shelter from the hot afternoon sun and a warm spot. Watering can be done about once a week, allowing topsoil to dry out between waterings.
This Elephant Ear rarely flowers but when it does, the blooms are a creamy white.
